20th week since starting my new startup and behind the scenes
Our startup team!

Consistency is key

For those who follow my YouTube channel, we are 20 weeks into our startup.

Yesterday, I posted my 20th video.

I am documenting our journeys so that people can see how it is to start a startup and what the daily struggles are.

I announced in my first video that I would be posting a video every week, but this was much more difficult than I had originally imagined.

I had been posting videos about tips and tricks for startup founders. But the frequency of video uploads would be every 2 ~ 4 weeks.

Now I had to do a video every week.

Thanks to Descript (video editing software) and wireless microphones, I have been able to keep up with the pace..... and then....

Summer holiday's

Our kids entered summer break on June 30th. My 7-year-old and 14-year-old boys would just be playing computer games all day if we didn't plan anything. So we started travelling.

We went to LA and then to Japan, where we travelled around quite a lot, to experience Japan (especially for the younger son) and catch up with their friends.

This made it very difficult to

  1. Secure time for filming and editing videos
  2. Keep the rhythm (time zones differences)
  3. Actually, get things done for the startup so I can make a video out of it

Especially 3 was tough...

Combining the summer break with a week of travelling to France slowed down the progress of our startup. And we had weeks of not having weekly meetings.

You can see this all during the Week 13 to Week 17 videos.

Actually get something done

Now that I am back to schedule, I see a lot more progress. (Yes, it is still summer break but we aren't going to travel anymore!)

Especially last week, the video I created had a lot of views and got comments as well.

Now since we have spent more than 1/3 of a year, we need to figure out quickly what we are going to do.

Hopefully, the activity we are working on will point us in the right direction!

So stay tuned!
