Vancouver Startup Communities List
Since I landed in Vancouver on July 14th 2021, I tried to join the startup community. It was difficult to find where everyone was. Especially due to COVID-19, there were no physical meetups/events.
So for those who are looking for communities and news sources, here I have made a list.
And please let me know if there is anything I should add!
What I have found to be very helpful
Vancouver Tech Journal
https://www.vantechjournal.com/
Founded in 2017 by William Johnson. Now joined by James Matthews, with a team of contributors. Wonderful news source! And they host a casual meetup every Tuesday 8AM. I have met with so many interesting and nice people there.
To sign up for the meetup, please use the following form:

e@UBC (University of British Columbia)
https://entrepreneurship.ubc.ca/
One of the best universities in Canada and the world. Large network. One drawback is that it is rather closed. You need to be faculty, a student, or a mentor to be in their network.
They do events as well where you can get to know people and get involved.
New Venture BC
https://www.newventuresbc.com/
Founded in 2001, New Ventures BC (NVBC) Society’s mandate is to recognize, encourage, and develop entrepreneurship and innovation in B.C.’s start-up technology sector. Angie Schick is the Executive Director of the team. She is very active and involved in the Vancouver startup community.
Vancouver Startup Week
From May 27 to June 3 in 2022. I had a chance to be a sub-moderator in one of the events in 2021. I will be more involved this year (2022). Katty Wang, and Vivian Chan are the co-chair.
Haven't explored too much yet, but seem very promising
