Vancouver Tech-related events
Today, I want to just briefly write about what is going on in Vancouver, Canada.
I want to share the 2 events that I have been to last week, where to check the events, and lastly, an exciting event that will be happening in June!
Vancouver Tech Morning Coffee at TTT Studios
Vancouver Tech Journal has been doing Tuesday Morning coffee, since 2021 summer, just around the time that I moved to Vancouver.
I have been to these coffee meetings more than 20 times.
It is a great way to loosely meet interesting people in Vancouver. Not everyone is "tech" related but I personally think that makes it even more interesting.
Since the coffee meetings grew to 30~50 people, Vancouver Tech Journal (VTJ), the people who voluntarily run this gathering, chose venues that had outside patios, such as the Birds and the Beets. But then came the Vancouver winters. Since during this season, we get a lot of rain, and it's not so pleasant sitting in the rain, regarding weather and VTJ decided to move the coffee meetings to neighbourhood offices. (Great idea!)
I joined a couple of gatherings, but last week they had the coffee meeting at TTT Studio.
TTT Studio is a proudly Vancouver-born Custom Software Development studio.
TTT Studio had a nice open space that they generously provided as a venue for the coffee meeting. David Hobbs, one of the founders mentioned that they use the open space for yoga lessons and other great activities for their employees. You can tell that they care about their staff!
(I was sure I took more photos of their display of each generation of the iPhone, the wonderful view from the window, and the many board games they had, but maybe I was still in my sleep at 8AM??)
It was great to catch up with Chris Hobbs (David's twin brother and a regular at the VJt coffee meetings) and talk to all the interesting people there!
Thank you to TTT Studio and all the other Vancouver businesses for providing their venue for us!
My First Million Live in Vancouver
If you are an entrepreneur or planning to be one, I am sure you have heard of "My First Million "(MFM) podcast that is run by Sam Parr ( @TheSamParr ) and Shaan Puri ( @ShaanVP ). They talk about all sorts of actual businesses and business ideas.
I was excited to first hear that they were going to come to Vancouver to do their talk LIVE!

The excitement! The buzz!! pic.twitter.com/dS556lIXlH
Not only did we have a great time with Sam, Shaan and Andrew grilled the presenters that pitched their business, but we learned a TON!
I agree with Sam that if you can dial the switch from 6~7 all the way to 12, a lot of things are achievable. Pure dedication will set you apart from all your competition.
